LA vs. DC commute comparison
The past 2 months, I've had the opportunity to try out commutes to DC and LA.
One morning in May, I took the MARC commuter train from the Martin Airport station (Middle River, MD, NE of Baltimore) to Union Station (Washington, DC).
It took over an hour, covered about 44 miles and cost $8.
A couple days ago, I took a commuter bus (LADOT 448) from Rancho Palos Verdes (near Ralphs supermarket) to downtown Los Angeles (Temple and Alameda).
It took over an hour, covered about 22 miles and cost $2.65.
